Jiangsu, March 28, 2017 – LAST TWO GRAGON MULTI-GAS CARRIERS NEMED

The last two dragons, 27,500 cbm multigas LNG carrier in a series of eight was successfully named today the 28th of March, at a ceremony at Yangzijiang shipyard, Jiangsu, China. The state-of-the-art carriers were named as JS INEOS INTUITION & JS INEOS INDEPENDENCE.

These two vessels were ordered by JHW at Yangzijiang shipyard on 16th of Feb,2015, and will officially delivered to JHW’s sister company EVERGAS next month.

The vessels are designed with a range of innovative features specifically tailored for safe, environmentally friendly and efficient operations. The LNG dual fuel propulsion and the optimized ECO hull design will significantly reduce emissions, and the ballast water treatment system will protect the sea water environment. To document the green vessel profile the vessels will receive Clean ship notation, Green Passport, EEDI compliance, NOx Tier III compliance etc.

Strong relations, strategic focus and an innovative approach between JHW, Evergas & INEOS have been key elements that allowed for the creation of a seaborne pipeline bringing U.S. ethane across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe.
